Τον Καλλιανιώτικο τον λένε και Σταυρωτό επειδή πιάνονται σταυρωτά, η σύγχρονη ονομασία είναι Καβοντορίτικος. Εχει πάρει την ονομασία του από το χωριό Καλλιανού. Ο Καλλιανώτικος χορός είναι κυκλικός βέβαια και, παρ’ όλο που οι χορευτές πιάνονται σταυρωτά, δεν έχει νησιώτικο χαρακτήρα. Επίσης δεν είναι συρτός, αλλά ούτε και πηδηχτός. Είναι όπως και η μουσική του απλός, στρωτός και στερεός. Στα άλλα χωριά του Καβοντόρου τον χορεύουν συνήθως άνδρες πιάνοντας ο ένας τον άλλον από τον ώμο διότι το σταυρωτό με γυναίκες είναι κάπως ασυμβίβαστο με τις αυστηρά ηθικές αρχές των κατοίκων. Στο Καλλιακού όμως εφ’ όσον μπουν στο χορό και οι γυναίκες θα χορευτεί σταυρωτά. Γι’ αυτό και τον χορό τον λένε Σταυρωτό.
